Island Park and Yellowstone
We got to go to Island Park for another family reunion the second weekend in August. It was wonderful. My Uncle Kirk builds cabins and custom homes for a living so he built the three amazing cabins that the whole Day clan got to stay in. He rents them out too if anyone is interested give me a call. It was the funnest Day reunion we've had in a long time. The first day Chris and I went with my parents, Carlie, and my nephew Luke, and Meesh and took the kids to Yellowstone. We did the usual route and saw the stinky hotpots, Old Faithful, Yellowstone Lake, and the waterfalls. Chelle, Chris and I had the kids packed in her new minivan. Unfortunately, Brianna had had enough of being on the road so she wasn't thrilled about being in the car so long, but we had a good time anyway. We saw elk, buffalo, and a coyote. I still am waiting for the day I see a bear- I'd prefer to see it from the car than on foot :). We got up close and personal with a buffalo that was in the road though- from the car of course.

The next day we got to float the river in a raft. I love floating the river. Again, Brianna was not thrilled and refused to take a nap while we were in the raft, but she calmed down enough to enjoy herself for awhile. I even jumped into the freezing cold water and dunked after Chris told me he'd push me in if I didn't. Sunday we went to the Island Park ward- it was insane. There were 1100 people there and the ward only has a 400 members. They usually have at least 400 visitors. Crazy huh? The best part of the reunion was hanging out with cousins. We got to visit a lot, play games, and go hottubbing. It was fun catching up- It had been a long time since we had been to a big Day reunion.
Well, all in all, we had a great time and then I had to come back home to my awaiting statistics. I am going to wrap it up here in a couple weeks. That will be a happy day when I never have to do another math class again. yeah! I can't get the pics to upload now so I'll try to edit and add them in later.

You guys are big adventurers! I still haven't been to Yellowstone (and I lived right next to it my whole life!). But I did just post my first blog on the McClure website so I'm proud of myself! I'm not a total moron . . . just a geek!
Sounds like a fun vacation--isn't it amazing how much fun you can really have in Idaho?! Surprising... Glad we are blogging buddies (we are, aren't we?!) Does Michelle have a blog? Love you!
It sounds like you had a great time! Sorry about having to go home to statistics. That is not fun at all.
